Pre-estate Sale

Over the years, I’ve collected some gear to play with, and some to restore. I’m still working on some projects, but I’d like to offload some gear to make it a little easier on my kids when my key goes silent. Hopefully, there isn’t any hurry. I’ve always thought things should be used or passed along to those who would enjoy them. Far better than just sitting around getting older.

Some items have been powered up and put on the air by me. Some have not. I hate when someone says, “It worked the last time I tried it.” With boat anchors, it can sit for a month and now have an issue. Typically fixable. If you are interested in something, I can give you the history, and if it’s something I’ve used, I can power it up and check it out for you.

Because this gear is old and fragile, I won’t be shipping any of it. Some are located in Chandler, AZ and the rest near Payson, AZ.

So, wander through and enjoy the pictures, and if you are interested in anything here, let me know. My email is dave@ai7r.net.

A classic Drake TR-4C with a digital readout and power supply. Such a cool rig and it runs about 300 watts. $650

Drake L4B that works great. Of course, I’d test it on video for you. I have installed the Harbach mod, so it will last longer, run cooler, and can be keyed by a modern solid-state rig. $1000

The classic 7300. This one was one of the first off the line. I paid $1500 for it and had to search around for someone who had one in stock. It has gotten very little use actually. I use it to remote when I’m away. It has never actually been on FT8 so the finals should be good for a normal lifetime. I 3D printed handles. Asking $800

The amazing KPA500 from Elecraft. These are rare on the used market. This one works perfectly as most do. It also does exactly as it should on all bands. Asking $2000

Now here is a classic from days gone by. The Henry 2K ultra. It will easily give you 1kw. The power supply is probably the heaviest item I own. The tubes it uses are the 8873 so it’s very quiet to run. The gotcha is, those tubes are not available anymore. It’ll work well for someone who knows how to use the old amps. Asking $400

The classic Kenwood TS-450AT with the power supply and a hand mic. The tuner squeaks a little but tunes fine. Total class radio. Asking $40

The Heathkit SB-104 line. The finals are blown, and the VFO is warbly, but you can feed a DSS VFO into the back jack, and it receives fine. I have the service boards and a replacement LED digital readout that can be installed. The transmitter worked fine before I heard that heartbreaking snap. The finals in the 104 were also very touchy. The accessories are iffy. Power supply/speaker is good! Asking $400 for the works.

The Heath DX 40. What can I say? $50

The Hallicrafters SX-71 in great shape and works fine. Asking $100

The Star Roamer!! I drooled over this so much in my youth. This one works pretty well. Asking $50

When I worked at Radio Shack I sold a lot of these babies. Of course, the police and fire are all digital now so I’m not sure what you might hear. $free

Nice keyer in the day. This one needs some work. Probably a recap. $40

Neither of these work so it’s a nice challenging project. They are brothers so the pair for $40

The classic Knight T-60. $50

The classic Globe Scout. Another good one to restore. $40

A working hermes-Lite with the IO board. This baby works just fine. I just don’t have the time to play with another QPR rig or learn Thermes. $350 and I can ship this one.

This is a wonderful tuner with very little use. Perfect condition.
